Buffalo Grove house fire 2-25-11
The Buffalo Grove Fire Department (BGFD) was called just before 2 p.m. when a homeowner returned to find their house filled with smoke. Within minutes, the deputy chief arrived and observed visible smoke, prompting an immediate upgrade to a Code 4 alarm. Engine 26 and Battalion 4 quickly responded and began an interior attack. The fire originated in a second-floor rear bedroom, spreading to the attic and the adjacent room. Though the floor of the bedroom was burned through, firefighters managed to contain the flames before they reached the first floor.
Mutual aid from neighboring departments included Long Grove, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, Arlington Heights, Palatine, and the Buffalo Grove Emergency Management Agency.
