Cape is insulated for cryogenic piping
Recently, Cape announced that it has received a contract from South Korea's Samsung Heavy Industries to serve Shell's giant Prelude FLNG facility.
Under the contract, Cape will install insulation for the built-in cryogenic piping for the Prelude floating LNG plant. The FLNG facility is currently being built at the Geoje shipyard of Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea.
Upon completion, the Prelude FLNG facility is 488 meters long, 74 meters wide and weighs about 600,000 tons. It will be moored approximately 475 kilometers northeast of Broome in Western Australia. After operation, it will produce at least 5.3 million tons of liquid, 3.6 million tons of LNG, 1.3 million tons of condensate (equivalent to 35,000 bbl/d) and 400,000 tons of LPG.
