According to the data of the Mexican Automobile Industry Association, in the first ten months of this year, Mexico exported a total of 59,028 vehicles to China, a year-on-year increase of 63%, accounting for 2.7% of the total exports of Mexico. In 2012, China was not among the major export destinations of Mexican cars. Last year it became the seventh largest export destination country and has now risen to fifth place.
In addition, in addition to vehicle exports, Mexico's Auto Parts exports continue to increase. According to the Ministry of Economy, China is Mexico's third-largest auto parts (heading 8708) export destination, only after the United States and Canada. Varancia, director of the Department of International Trade at the Mexican Institute of Technology, said that China is almost more than the United States and Germany to become the world's most important car sales market, so the Chinese market is very attractive.
The Chinese market and consumers are open to the outside world, hoping to have more choices, including cars. In the past decade, the number of middle class in China has been increasing, which has caused China’s household consumption to multiply. In addition, China has also created a new wealthy class, which has benefited from China’s rapid development and export explosions over the years. In the hope of acquiring luxury goods, Mexican auto assembly plants should seize this good opportunity to occupy a share of sales in the Chinese market.
