The prototype of this support structure will lose 70% weight, thereby increasing the passenger car's load. With the further development of prototypes, the capabilities of the components must be verified in a rigorous road-running experiment. In addition, the economic efficiency of the components will also be evaluated. At the same time, the main purpose of the project is to develop a technology that can produce such parts on a large scale. The production process is highly automated: with the assistance of a radial weaving machine, carbon fibers are organized around a core. Several robots jointly pull the core of the assembly through the radial weaving machine from the correct angle. The epoxy injection process is also fully automated.
