In the past period of time, two sets of PTA units in Asia have been successfully put into operation. China Eastern Petrochemical (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. has successfully put into operation its new 600,000-ton/year PTA plant in Shanghai. The plant has been producing smoothly so far, and it plans to start selling its PTA to the market in early May. The device invests less than 300 million U.S. dollars and will run at full capacity once the test and start of work are completed. The other is the 700,000-ton/year PTA plant of Thailand's IndoramaThailand, which was successfully put into operation in mid-March in Liyang, Thailand. The plant's current operating rate is about 95%.
Reliance on 650,000 tons PTA device will be put into production this month
According to Platts, India’s Refining and Petrochemical Giant Trust Industries planned to start production of its new 650,000 tpa PTA plant by the end of May, which will be part of the Trusted Petrochemical Plant. The latter is located in the Hazira port near Surat, Gujarat, western India.
