In the coming years, China will carry out renovation and expansion of nearly 20 million-ton-grade refinery bases and accelerate the construction of several million-ton-scale large-scale ethylene projects. The demand for large and medium-sized air separation plants will continue to rise. Although the medium-sized air separation plants of 6,000 to 10,000 Newton·m3/hour in recent years will continue to be the mainstream of demand, the newly-built large-scale oil refining and chemical integration companies will use a large amount of large-scale air of 40,000 Nm3/h or more. In terms of compressors, according to incomplete statistics, China currently has about 1900 fertilizer companies. Taking an annual output of 300,000 tons of nitrogen fertilizer plant as an example, the number of centrifugal compressors per unit is calculated by 5, and about 240 centrifugal compressors used in the synthesis gas, ammonia, natural gas and carbon dioxide gas complete sets will be needed by 2007. About 600,000 tons of fertilizer plant is also under preparation. Taking an ethylene plant with an annual output of 300,000 tons as an example, it is estimated that each unit will be equipped with 3 centrifugal compressors. By 2007, approximately 60 units will be required for compressors used in cracking gas, propylene and ethylene plants. By 2007, large and medium-sized cities in the country will basically achieve coal gasification, and the urban gasification rate will reach 85%. It will also require a new gas installation with a capacity of 30 million cubic meters per day. If 500,000 cubic meters/day of processing capacity is the standard type, a total of 70 air compressors will be required for each set with one compressor.
