The Sichuan Provincial Government Information Office and the Provincial Economic Committee jointly held the first quarter of this year's industrial economic policy information press conference and learned that Sichuan will vigorously develop the automotive industry and use it as one of the key points for Sichuan's strategic adjustment of its industrial structure. Sichuan will be based on the low-end car market, with medium-sized trucks and large passenger vehicles as the leading products, strongly integrate automotive resources, establish autonomous development systems for parts and components, establish automotive brands, and leverage comparative advantages to achieve leapfrog development in the automotive industry.
In 2003, Sichuan Ziyang Nanjun, Chengdu Trump, Chuanlu, and Guangcheng had output of more than 30,000 medium-sized trucks and accounted for more than 21% of the domestic medium-card market. At present, Sichuan has established a joint venture and cooperation channel for auto parts with relevant foreign agencies, and plans to build Sichuan into an important auto parts center in China.
