China's auto industry ushered in the development of seven measures to respond to the international market

In 2005, China achieved the first export of more than 11,000 vehicles and the export value of automobiles and auto parts reached US$10.93 billion.

From January to July 2006, the export of automobiles and parts has reached US$8.54 billion, an increase of 47%. The export volume of whole vehicles remained the same as last year's export volume, reaching 173,000 vehicles.

People's Daily. Tianjin Window, September 18: From September 15 to 17, the "2006 China International Automobile Industry Development International Forum" was held at the Tianjin Binhai International Convention and Exhibition Center. Experts from home and abroad have revolved around the “Auto Industry Structure Adjustment and Internationalization Strategy” and published their opinions from different perspectives, including an analysis of the structural adjustment of the auto industry and issues that the auto industry should pay attention to in developing its own brand. The forum conveyed such a message to the world: The Chinese automobile industry has ushered in the spring of development. At the forum, reporters interviewed some experts and people in the industry.

Seven Corporate Measures to Address the International Market

Wang Qinhua, director of the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Affairs of the Ministry of Commerce, pointed out at the "2006 China International Automobile Industry Development International Forum" that China's auto industry should play a comparative advantage and lay a good reputation for high quality and high efficiency. In the process of automotive products becoming internationalized and moving toward the international market, auto companies should respond well in seven areas.

At the forum’s keynote speech, Wang Qinhua cited a set of data: In 2005, China’s first-ever total vehicle exports exceeded 11,000 imports, and exports of automobiles and components reached US$10.93 billion. Since the beginning of this year, China’s auto and auto parts exports have continued to maintain a momentum of growth. From January to July, auto and auto parts exports have reached US$8.54 billion, an increase of 47%, and vehicle exports have become even more prominent, from January to July. The number of exports has been the same as last year's total exports, reaching 173,000 units. From the quantitative analysis, China's car imports are still larger than exports, but large and medium-sized passenger cars, trucks, especially special vehicles, export volume is much higher than the import volume. For the current status of China's auto industry development, experts believe that China's auto market is currently showing a trend of rapid increase in the number of export business entities, especially parts-based, vehicle exports are mainly commercial vehicles, the export market to diversified development Mainly in the form of general trade, exports fully realize their own profits and losses. At the same time, the development of China's auto industry is also facing the problems of dependence on international resources, the need for independent innovation, post-sale maintenance service network is still not perfect, and the challenge of non-tariff barriers increases. Faced with these challenges, we must realize the continuous export of automotive products and truly move from a large automobile manufacturing country to a powerful automobile country. Auto companies must respond well in 7 aspects: First, ensure product quality, and low-end products cannot be low-quality products; There are orders that do not mean that there is a market, and the market cannot be used as a test field, and pre-sales and after-sales services must be well prepared. The third is to carefully study the market access conditions, technical regulations, standards, and conformity assessment procedures of importing countries to prevent blind entry. To avoid unnecessary losses; Fourth, to control costs, prevent sharp declines in prices and maintain a reasonable level of profitability; Fifth, whether it is an entire vehicle or a parts plant should increase scientific and technological input and improve research and development capabilities. As an automobile product that goes into the international market, it is difficult to develop without its own independent intellectual property rights for a long time. Sixthly, it is to strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights and fight against infringement. Seventh, it is necessary to standardize export order and curb vicious competition.

Independent component development must break the bottleneck of vehicle development

An industry insider pointed out that domestic automobile joint venture companies now often mention the localization rate of their vehicles. However, is the core component of the automobile used in the localization rate? If not, car manufacturers have not escaped the role of “working” for others. In this regard, Li Fanfeng, Director of the National Automotive Industry Planning and Design Institute of the Ministry of Machinery Industry, pointed out that the development of China's independent parts and components industry should adhere to structural optimization, resource integration, continuous improvement, and lean reform to break through the innovation and development of key auto parts and components. Car development bottlenecks.

At present, people mentioned that Chery, FAW, SAIC, Dongfeng, Geely and other vehicle companies often think of independent research and development of passenger vehicles. In fact, the competitiveness of parts and components companies supporting these companies is directly related to the level of competitiveness of these vehicle companies. According to the relevant provisions of the WTO, since 2006, the import tax on auto parts has dropped from 25% to 35% to 10%. The pressure on local auto parts manufacturers cannot be underestimated. Exports are relatively large, but they are relatively weak in terms of electronic components and imports have become mainstream. At the same time, the current large parts and components manufacturers in China are mostly foreign joint ventures or holdings. China's spare parts exports are mainly based on product resources such as wheels and labor-intensive low value-added products, while imports mainly include high-tech and high-value-added products such as gearboxes. The increase in the value-added rate of China's auto and parts manufacturing industry is significantly different from that of the United States and other developed countries. In the next stage of development, the development of China's independent parts and components industry should adhere to the combination of opening up and independent development, give full play to the market mechanism and strengthen the combination of macro-control, and realize the tripartite coordination of enterprises, government, and industry.

Developing new energy vehicles to change the backwardness of technology

At this forum, new energy vehicles have become the consensus of the industry as a new direction for the development of the automotive industry. Experts participating in the forum stated that the development of new energy vehicles in China is still in its initial stage. However, from an overall analysis, the gap between domestic and foreign companies in this area is still not very large. To this end, domestic automobile R&D institutions should seize this critical period, increase support, actively develop energy-saving and environmentally friendly vehicles, and further change the backwardness of the domestic automobile industry technology.

In the past few years, the Ministry of Science and Technology, in conjunction with various relevant departments, organized and implemented a major special program for electric vehicles and a clean vehicle action plan. In the special development plan for electric vehicles, after several years of research and development, the capability and level of electric vehicles in China have developed rapidly. Fuel cell vehicle R&D has entered the world's advanced ranks in certain technical performance. Hybrid vehicles have formed industrial production in small batches and have achieved passenger-carrying operations. Pure electric vehicles are already in some special areas and are suitable for special applications. They have entered mass production and road operations and are exported in bulk. At the same time, China has made great progress in key components technologies, electronic control technologies, and system integration technologies such as electric vehicle power fuel and battery electric technology. In the face of “energy bottlenecks,” Wang Fuchang, deputy director of the Department of Industrial Policy of the National Development and Reform Commission, participated in the forum and issued two drugs: In terms of closure, policies and standards conducive to saving energy consumption should be formulated, and the proportion of advanced diesel vehicles should be increased to develop a mixture. Power cars; In terms of open source, we must increase the production and import of fuel and develop new types of automotive alternative fuels. In China's future medium- and long-term science and technology development plan, we will further integrate and comprehensively organize and organize automobile technology breakthroughs, including the establishment of key new technologies for fuel-automobiles, and focus on supporting advanced engines, diesel engines, and automotive automotive materials. Technical research in design and other aspects.
