·Emergency braking system test results Mercedes-Benz C-class and other vehicles are not up to standard

According to the US media autoevolution reported on May 12, the EU and other regulators around the world hope to incorporate more safety features into the car through mandatory measures. For example, from 2018 onwards, all cars manufactured and sold in the European Union must have emergency call technology installed. In theory, the radar idea that can detect danger is good, but tests conducted in Germany prove that the system is not as effective as expected.

The German "Cars and Sports" magazine did a very simple experiment to test the pedestrian emergency braking system of the vehicle. Place the dummy in the cart and place it on the driveway in front of the test vehicle. The most surprising result is that the Mercedes-Benz C-Class W205 has poor braking performance and hits the experimental dummy at high speed. Most of the other models are not much better. Test videos show that Volkswagen Up! and Nissan hackers have significantly reduced speed, but still can't avoid the impact. Volkswagen Up! can reach a speed of 30 kilometers per hour (18 km / h), which is known to be slower than other models.
The only model that passed the test was the Subaru Outback, which was probably the least known of the European customers when testing. So why are cars such as Mercedes-Benz and MINI not passing this test? That's because their systems can outsource projects from other companies, such as outsourcing to Bosch. Their system is also more complex than the Volkswagen Up! system.
This test reminds us of two identical tests conducted by Fifth Gear a few years ago. The test found that Volkswagen Up!'s automatic braking system is superior to the old Mercedes-Benz S-class system.
