Fluoride Workers Benefit From CDM Projects

<

Looking back at the past five years, the growth rate of the fluorine industry and the overall market in China has reached 15% to 20%, and the fluorine chemical industry is in a period of rapid development. Among them, the average annual growth rate of production capacity and output of important products has reached more than 20%. But to say that the fluorine chemical industry's important changes in these five years, we must start from the CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) this new thing.
With the increasing emphasis on the environment, people began to notice that CFC (chlorofluorocarbons) and HCFC (hydrochlorofluorocarbons) substances widely used by refrigeration, air conditioning, heat pump and other industries have a destructive effect on the ozone layer and can produce Greenhouse effect. This is an important issue facing the development of the fluorine chemical industry. It is well known in the industry that fluorochemical companies produce by-product trichloromethane (HFC-23) during the production of dichlorofluoromethane (HFC-22), and chloroform is one of the greenhouse gases that cause the greatest impact of climate change. On February 16, 2005, the "Kyoto Protocol" that restricted the emission of industrial waste gases from various countries was officially put into effect. In this context, the CDM project can help us improve the technical level, realize technological transformation, and realize product replacement.
However, at the time, many domestic fluorine chemical enterprises had insufficient knowledge of CDM projects, and they were not afraid to bear the risk of technological transformation and renewal. They were even less aware of the need to use CDM to carry out external cooperation and use foreign capital and technology to promote sustainable development of enterprises.
Zhejiang Juhua Co., Ltd. is the first person to eat “crab” in the domestic fluorine chemical industry. At the end of November 2005, the National Clean Development Mechanism Review Board approved the Zhejiang Juhua Co., Ltd. CDM project. On March 10, 2006, Zhejiang Juhua Co., Ltd. cooperated with Japan JMD Corporation to formally start a 500-ton/year CDM project. It was completed and put into operation in August of that year, and the annual carbon dioxide emission reduction amounted to 5 million tons. At present, Zhejiang Juhua Co., Ltd. has three carbon trading CDM projects, of which two projects have achieved synergies.
In the following five years, the CDM project continued to emerge in the fluorine chemical industry in China. Shandong Dongyue Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Meilan Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Changshu Sanaifu Zhongyu Chemical New Material Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Dongyang Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., Zhonghao Chenguang Chemical Research Institute, Shandong Zhongfu Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. A group of companies, including Zhejiang Yingpeng Chemical Co., Ltd. and other companies, used CDM projects to obtain funds and advanced technologies, promoted energy conservation and emission reduction, and obtained economic benefits. According to incomplete statistics, only chloroform is used to decompose CDM projects. Of the 16 projects in the world, 9 are in China. The resulting CERs (certified emission reductions) account for 28.1% of the world's total CERs.
In the international arena, since the entry into force of the Kyoto Protocol, CDM has become the world's largest carbon project market. Under the promotion of the CDM project, people firmly believe that China's fluorine chemical industry will achieve faster and better development in the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan".
