2-Alarm fire in Elmhurst, 1-26-17 (part 7)
This is a report from Steve Redick:
Thursday afternoon, a truck company from Elmhurst was returning from an alarm when they stumbled upon a fire at a bridal shop. It seemed that the shop was already closed at the time the fire broke out. I got there after the second alarm had been raised. They deployed three elevated master streams, and also set up an unusual inline operation between two quint engines to supply a multiversal. The weather conditions were overcast with frequent snow squalls, and the shifting winds caused the smoke conditions to vary significantly throughout the incident. The fire building ended up being a complete loss, but luckily, there was little to no damage reported to any surrounding structures.

The response involved multiple departments working together to control the situation. The firefighters did an impressive job of containing the fire despite challenging weather conditions and the complexity of the building structure. The teamwork and coordination between different units were crucial in preventing further damage and ensuring the safety of everyone involved.

Overall, it was a tough situation, but the quick actions and dedication of the firefighters made all the difference. Their efforts not only helped protect nearby properties but also minimized potential risks to the community. It's always inspiring to see how these professionals handle emergencies with such professionalism and resilience.
