From the East Joliet Fire Protection District Facebook page: Today was an incredible day! We've been keeping a big secret—something that's as big as a fire truck! Today, we officially dedicated our 3rd Pink Fire Truck (which is actually our 4th Pink Heals Joliet Area Chapter vehicle) to our amazing friend, Michelle Darguzis. She's someone we love deeply and who has supported us from the very beginning. Michele has always been there for us. She helped arrange visits for people she knew were going through tough times, organized the fun "On the Hunt for Pink Trucks" scavenger hunt, spoke at our Mother’s Day Walk, and showed up at so many of our events. She's one of our biggest supporters, and today we had the chance to honor her. It was such a surprise—and we're all just over the moon excited to welcome our new truck, Michelle, into the chapter! Our Events Director, Debbie Trimmer, said it best: “Today was the BEST DAY of 2020!†This amazing truck and the dedication to Michelle wouldn’t have been possible without some incredible people. First, a huge thank you to East Joliet Fire Department! Four years ago, they donated one of their retired trucks to Pink Heals. Since then, Fire Chief Scholtes passed away, but we now carry his name with pride, thanks to a beautiful plaque in his honor. Thank you, East Joliet Fire, for your generosity and support! Next, a massive thank you to All American Recycling! Last fall, AAR reached out to help us get this third truck on the road. They’ve been a huge supporter of Pink Heals through our Mother’s Day Walk and Save the Cans fundraisers. We’re so grateful for everything they do. Thank you, AAR! And finally, a huge shout-out to MO-GRAPHICS in New Lenox! AAR connected us, and MO-GRAPHICS generously wrapped our new truck, Michelle.
