MVA with entrapment in Buffalo Grove, 12-2-16
This just came in from Larry Shapiro:
Larry shared some details about an incident that took place today (December 2, 2016), when emergency services, including the Buffalo Grove Police and Fire Department, responded to a two-car collision at the intersection of Buffalo Grove Road and Aptakisic. According to the report, both vehicles involved were severely impacted, prompting the dispatch of two ambulances to transport the drivers to safety.
One of the drivers ended up trapped inside their vehicle following the crash. Firefighters had to use a hydraulic spreader tool to carefully open the car door and extract the individual safely. It was a challenging situation that required quick thinking and precise execution by the first responders on the scene.
I've included several images captured by Larry Shapiro that provide a glimpse into the rescue operation. These photos show firefighters assisting the victims, the aftermath of the collision, and the tools used during the rescue process, such as the Holmatro spreader and specialized stretchers.
For those interested in more visuals, additional photos and videos can be found on [shapirophotography.net](http://shapirophotography.net).
This kind of event really highlights the importance of having well-trained emergency personnel who can handle situations like these efficiently and compassionately. Props to everyone involved for their hard work today!
