Hey there,
I just wanted to share something interesting I came across earlier today. While visiting one of the local fire stations in Rockford, I had the chance to snap some pictures of one of their impressive fire engines. This particular vehicle is Engine 4, a 2013 Pierce Saber PUC rescue engine. It’s fully equipped for advanced life support (ALS) and has a special access door on the officer's side leading into the EMS compartment. Interestingly, this engine is part of a trio of designated "Extrication" vehicles in Rockford—Engines 8 and 11 being the others. As you can see from the photos, this engine was about to head out on an EMS call when I captured it.
In addition to Engine 4, I also managed to get a shot of Rockford Quint 5, a 2012 Pierce Velocity 105-ft quint. These vehicles really highlight the level of preparation and capability that the Rockford Fire Department brings to their community.
