Recently, there is also news that the Nissan minicar March will also be made in Dongfeng Nissan; the new SPARK will be launched next year; Honda also said that its new mini vehicle TIF will consider releasing in China. In the high-end market, with the entry of SMART, its rival FIAT500 may also enter the Chinese market.

A Suzuki brand dealer stated: “Although the self-owned brands are lagging slightly behind joint venture brands in many technologies, they have more price advantages; since joint venture brands have no obvious price advantage, the pursuit of quality products will be the future direction.” The demand and direction will also enable the mini-vehicle market to be divided into three sub-markets: practical mini-vehicles, boutique mini-vehicles and personalized mini-vehicles. The self-owned brands will be mainly used for practical mini-vehicles, and joint-venture brands will focus on boutique mini-vehicles.
