D3 portable thickness gauge is a high-precision instrument with a wide range of applications. To ensure the long-term measurement accuracy and stability of the instrument, please use the following instructions:
To keep the instrument clean, do not drop it at high altitudes to avoid working under dusty, wet conditions. The principle is to use corrosive chemicals and steam.
Put the instrument in the storage box after use.
Do not expose to prolonged exposure. Temperature will affect the measurement accuracy.
The instrument shell can resist the erosion of most chemicals. Keep the clean and clean probe with a soft cloth to ensure the accuracy of the measurement results. Do not remove the battery for a long time to avoid leakage of the battery fluid and corrode the motherboard.
If there is a problem with the instrument, contact an agent to repair it or return it for repair. Do not attempt to open and repair by yourself.
4. The battery replacement instrument uses a 9V alkaline battery. The battery cover is on the back of the instrument. If the screen shows "B", you need to replace the battery. If the battery is not replaced, the instrument can continue to measure until there is no power off.
5. Zeroing the instrument Before the first measurement, after replacing the substrate and replacing the battery, zero adjustment is required. The instrument probe is pressed against the iron or aluminum plate inside the box, and the instrument can also be pressed on the unpainted workpiece to perform zero adjustment. Press the probe on the surface. If the displayed value of the instrument exceeds the allowable range of error, zero adjustment is required. The zeroing procedure is as follows:
Remove the instrument from the zero adjustment board Press the button "ZERO" and the screen shows "PO.O."
Press the instrument probe on the zero adjustment board, the screen displays “PinF”, and it automatically returns to the measurement state and then presses the probe on the zero adjustment board. The instrument displays “0”, which proves that the zero adjustment is successful and can be measured. Note: Due to zero adjustment The board is not clean or other operation reasons and errors exist. After the zero adjustment, the zero adjustment board may get different values. As long as the error is within the error range, we all think that the zero adjustment is successful.
6. Measurement operation can be started in two ways Press the "ON/OFF" button, the instrument is switched on and displays "Cd3"
Or press the instrument probe on any measuring object, automatically turn on and display "Cd3"
The instrument will automatically shut down after 40 seconds without operation. You can also press and hold the “ON/OFF” button for 5 seconds to turn off the instrument. Press the instrument probe vertically on the surface of the measured object to measure it. Place the thumb in front of the instrument and the remaining four fingers. Place it behind the instrument to ensure that the instrument does not shake during measurement and that accurate measurements can be made.
If the instrument is raised prematurely, or if the zero adjustment is incorrect or incorrectly placed, the display will show an “ErrO” error. If the measured thickness exceeds the measurement range, or if a non-metallic substrate is measured, the display will show “InFi”
When measuring curved surfaces such as arcs or spheres, the V-notch of the instrument probe can help ensure that the probe is perpendicular to the surface.
