Tire industry access conditions are expected to be introduced before the end of the year

Entrusted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, the China Rubber Industry Association held a technical and economic committee tire expert group meeting on June 29 to negotiate and formulate conditions for entry into the tire industry. Entry conditions are expected to be introduced before the end of this year.

According to Zhao Wenquan, director of the Technical Committee of the China Rubber Association, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has repeatedly mentioned the issue of access after starting to formulate industrial revitalization plans in March this year. It has explicitly proposed to establish conditions for entry into the tire industry and hopes to introduce it before the end of this year.

Deng Yaxuan, secretary-general of the China Rubber Association, said that the global financial crisis has made the tire industry more clearly see its own problems. Only by properly formulating industry access conditions, industrial adjustment opinions, and the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” can the tire industry be healthy and steadily developed. . The Honorary Chairman of the China Rubber Association, Geng Hongzhen, said that the threshold for entry into the tire industry is very important, and its access conditions should be combined with the industry's "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" and guidance for the structural adjustment of the rubber industry, with reference to the development of related industries.

According to reports, tire access conditions will involve products, project construction, product recalls, supervision and management, etc. Among them, environmental protection, energy conservation and emission reduction will be important indicators.

It is understood that China is not only a big tire producing country, but also a big consumer of tires and exports, and its tire production accounts for about a quarter of the world’s tire production. In 2008, China’s tire production reached 350 million, including 260 million radial tires, and the radialization rate reached 75%. However, the number of tire companies in China is large, the industrial concentration is low, the homogeneity of products is serious, and there are few high-value-added products, and the benefits are affected. In addition, the proportion of tire exports in China is as high as 45%. Both raw materials and the market are on the outside. This has caused the tire industry not only to be affected by the sluggish international demand, but also to face pressure from international trade protectionism. The foreign anti-dumping, countervailing, and special Protection investigations are increasing day by day. The healthy development of the tire industry is facing a major test, and it is imminent to implement industry access.

According to another understanding, the "Guiding Opinions on Structural Adjustment of the Rubber Industry" is about to be issued, and the "Twelve Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Tire Industry" has also been initiated.
