Working fire in Park Ridge, 12-13-14

<

Saturday evening, around 7 PM, I happened to catch sight of a fire while heading down the street. The smoke was noticeable as I approached, but by the time I reached the scene, the situation had calmed down significantly. It seemed like an attic fire that had already been brought under control. The firefighters were using a large hose line from the exterior to extinguish any remaining embers. They also deployed two additional backup lines just to be safe. What caught my attention was how the truck—a quint—was functioning more like an engine, providing water supply for all the lines. I’m speculating they might have been first responders, or perhaps one of their engines was unavailable for some reason. I’ve always found this kind of operational setup fascinating. Even though I couldn’t get too many clear shots from where I stood, it sounded like they did an excellent job containing the fire before it could spread further. --- ![](https://example.com/fire-photos/scene-1.jpg) *Photo Credit: Steve Redick* The image above shows the E-ONE tower ladder in action at the fire scene.
