Yokogawa launches new spectrum analyzer covering visible light and optical communication wavelengths

<

Recently, Yokogawa Japan (YOKOGAWAMeters & Instruments) officially released the AQ6374 spectrum analyzer. The AQ6374 is a benchtop spectrum analyzer with a wide dynamic range and high resolution. It can accurately measure the laser spectrum with a wavelength range of 350 to 1750 nm.

A spectrometer can analyze the wavelength components of optical devices such as semiconductor lasers and fiber lasers in order to evaluate their characteristics. The AQ6374 is the only spectrum analyzer on the market that covers visible wavelengths and optical communication wavelengths.

In recent years, optical technology has been widely used in various applications in the fields of communication, medical, home appliance and material processing. The development of these industries has stimulated the research and development of optical technology applications, so the demand for high performance spectrum analyzers that can evaluate and analyze laser characteristics is increasing.

Conventional optical spectrum analyzers can measure light over a limited range of wavelengths. Commercially available analyzers are available in two types: measuring optical communication wavelengths (1260 to 1675 nm*2) and measuring visible light wavelengths (380 to 780 nm*3), which are commonly used in medical, household, and material processing industries. Therefore, basic optical technology research institutes, broadband light source manufacturers, and manufacturers using optical devices in various fields have to build their own measurement platforms using multiple optical spectrum analyzers or using beamsplitters and other components.

In order to meet the above requirements, Yokogawa researched and released the AQ6374 spectrum analyzer.

Yokogawa's new spectrometer uses the same control technology as the previous AQ6370, which has better operability and more than 40 times faster measurement speed. For example, sampling 100,001 data points is 100 times faster than previous AQ6315A, with a wider measurement range and higher accuracy. Also, the data transfer rate during remote control is 100 times faster than the AQ6315A.

The wavelength accuracy of the new AQ6374 can be set from 0.05nm to 10nm. The test accuracy is 0.05nm in the range of 633nm to 1523nm. The test accuracy is plus or minus 0.2nm in the whole 350nm to 1700nm range. The test power range is -80 to 20dBm. Less than 0.5 seconds, built-in storage space 512Mb, can support external storage based on USB interface, and has RJ-45 and GP-IB interface, built-in calibration source.
