House fire in Arlington Heights, 1-22-21
Arlington Heights firefighters and police were dispatched to 302 Ivy Lane around 9 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2021, after a reported house fire. Engine 4 was the first unit on scene and immediately observed flames coming from the roof, a second-floor window, and the exterior siding. As additional units arrived, Engine 4 advanced a hose line into the home to begin suppression efforts.
Arlington Heights Engine 2, typically the second engine for this district, was initially occupied with another call, so Palatine Engine 83 responded in its place and positioned itself at a hydrant across the street. Buffalo Grove Tower 25, the first ladder company to arrive in the area, set up in front of the residence to assist with ventilation and monitoring.
Three hose lines were deployed to combat the fire, which was brought under control within just 10 minutes. Firefighters worked quickly to ensure the structure was fully secured and no further spread occurred. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
